About Soma Veritas

Soma Veritas means truth of the body.

It is an orientation toward life that values lived experience over stories, presence over performance, and integrity over image. Soma Veritas exists to support men in reconnecting with themselves, their bodies, and each other through grounded, embodied connection.

The work is experiential, relational, and held with care. It is not about fixing or becoming someone else. It is about creating the conditions where truth can be felt, expressed, and met safely.

My Story

My name is Gabriel Gonzales, founder of Soma Veritas.

There was a time in my life marked by isolation, anxiety, and depression. I was deeply disconnected from my body, from others, and from myself. I often stayed up late at night carrying a quiet ache with a tension between the life I was living and the life I longed to live.

I wanted connection. I wanted community. I wanted to feel free to express myself fully. But the stories I carried and the tightness in my body made that feel out of reach. When I tried to speak, my throat would close. When I wanted to be seen, my nervous system shut me down.

Finding the Work

I eventually found my way into men’s groups. Sitting in circle and talking about life was meaningful and supportive, and it gave me a sense of belonging I hadn’t felt before. And still, something was missing. Even in those spaces, my body would freeze when it was time to share. I often stayed quiet, present but unseen.

That changed when I discovered embodiment work.

For the first time, the focus shifted from stories and self-improvement to breath, sensation, and presence. Slowly, things began to open. My awareness moved from coping and avoidance into my body. Experiences that once caused me to freeze began to loosen their grip.

Life started to feel warm again. People began to feel safe. My truth began to feel safe. My authenticity began to feel safe.

Why Soma Veritas Exists

That experience changed my life, and it clarified my direction.

I knew I wanted to walk this path of embodiment and bring it to other men — not as a teacher with answers, but as a facilitator holding space for real experience and connection. Soma Veritas was born from that intention.

The work I offer is grounded in men’s work and transpersonal facilitation. I am part of the lineage of The Embodied Masculine, founded by Amir Khalighi, where the principles of facilitation draw influence from somatics, kundalini yoga, shamanic and animistic traditions, hermetic philosophy, and Jungian psychology.

These influences are not taught as concepts, but integrated into how space is held — through presence, structure, and respect for the nervous system.

My Approach

I facilitate from a place of humility and presence rather than authority. My role is to hold a clear, confidential container where men can slow down, listen to their bodies, and speak from lived experience.

This work is not therapy, coaching, or advice-giving. It is a practice of being human together with intention. I value consent, confidentiality, and grounded structure, and I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel safe enough to be honest.

An Invitation

Soma Veritas is an in-person men’s embodiment group on the Central Coast of California.

It is for men who are craving depth, connection, and a more honest relationship with themselves and others. You don’t need to be fixed or confident. You don’t need to know what you’re doing.

You just need a willingness to show up, slow down, and meet what’s here.
